Election Day Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with humble hearts, lifting up our nation and the upcoming elections into Your sovereign hands. Your Word reminds us that "righteousness exalts a nation" (Proverbs 14:34), and we seek Your wisdom and guidance for our leaders, that they may serve with integrity and a heart committed to justice and compassion.

Lord, as ballots are cast for President, Vice President, Senators, Representatives, and all state and local officials, we ask that Your will be done. Give wisdom to each voter, that we may act with discernment, guided by Your Spirit, and not by fear or division. We pray, as You instructed, for all who are in authority, that “we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1 Timothy 2:2).

Father, we ask You to protect the election process, that it may be carried out with fairness, transparency, and respect for all. Shield those working the polls and counting the votes, granting them clarity, patience, and strength. We pray that any efforts of deception, corruption, or harm would be dismantled by Your power, so that “justice will roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream” (Amos 5:24).

Lord, we recognize that true leadership comes through serving others as Christ taught us. So we pray for those elected to govern, that they may walk humbly, lead selflessly, and seek the welfare of all, from the least to the greatest among us. Grant them courage to defend the weak, wisdom to enact policies that honor You, and a heart for truth, justice, and compassion. Father, we pray for their personal salvation and that you would shower them with your grace and mercy through the transforming of their minds and hearts to follow you, by faith alone in Jesus Christ our Lord.

In this season of change and decision-making, we remember Your promise that "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in You" (Isaiah 26:3). Fill us with that peace, knowing that You are sovereign over every outcome, and may Your Kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
