The Risen King:

Fulfilled Promise, Living Hope

From the very beginning, God revealed His plan to redeem humanity. What we celebrate at Easter is not a single moment in history—it is the fulfillment of a promise spoken long ago, carried through generations, and completed in Jesus Christ.

Long before His birth, the Scriptures pointed to a coming Savior. The prophets spoke with remarkable clarity about what was to come. Isaiah wrote, “He was pierced for our transgressions… and with His wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). David described a suffering that mirrored the crucifixion centuries before it existed, saying, “They have pierced my hands and feet… they divide my garments among them” (Psalm 22:16,18). These were not distant ideas—they were precise glimpses into the life and mission of the Messiah.

Then, in the fullness of time, Jesus came.

Born in Bethlehem just as foretold (Micah 5:2), He lived a life unlike any other—fully human, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15). He walked among the broken, restored the hurting, and proclaimed the Kingdom of God with authority and compassion. Everywhere He went, He revealed the heart of the Father and the reality of a coming redemption.

Yet His mission was always leading to the cross.

What appeared to be a moment of defeat was, in truth, the unfolding of God’s divine plan. Jesus Himself said, “The Son of Man came… to give His life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45). And in His final moments, He declared, “It is finished” (John 19:30). The weight of sin, the debt of humanity, the separation between God and man—all of it was carried and paid for in that moment.

The cross was not the end of the story. It was the turning point.

Three days later, the tomb was empty.

The words spoken at the resurrection still echo across the world today: “He is not here, for He has risen, as He said” (Matthew 28:6). What had been promised was now fulfilled. Even David had prophesied this victory, writing, “You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your Holy One see corruption” (Psalm 16:10).

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the ultimate confirmation of truth:

  • Jesus is the promised Messiah

  • Sin has been defeated

  • Death has lost its power

And because He lives, everything changes.

For those who believe, the resurrection is not just an event to remember—it is a reality to live in:

  • We are forgiven and redeemed (Colossians 1:13–14)

  • We are made new (2 Corinthians 5:17)

  • We are given a living hope that cannot be shaken (1 Peter 1:3)

This hope is not limited by geography, culture, or circumstance. It is for every person, in every nation, at every stage of life.

To Christ-followers around the world: stand firm in this truth. Let the reality of the risen Savior shape how you live, how you lead, and how you love others. In a world filled with uncertainty, the resurrection remains unchanging.

And to those who are searching—this same Jesus, who fulfilled every promise, defeated death, and rose again in victory, invites you into relationship with Him.

Easter is more than a celebration of what happened.
It is the declaration of what is true today.

Jesus Christ is alive.

And because He lives, we have a hope that will never fade.

He is risen indeed.
