Day 28 Reading (READ Proverbs 28)

(The text below is only part of the chapter. I encourage you to read the ENTIRE chapter when you walk through this plan. If you do not have a bible, you can find the text using THIS online bible link.)

The wicked flee when no one pursues,
but the righteous are bold as a lion.
When a land transgresses, it has many rulers,
but with a man of understanding and knowledge,
    its stability will long continue.
A poor man who oppresses the poor
is a beating rain that leaves no food.
Those who forsake the law praise the wicked,
but those who keep the law strive against them.
Evil men do not understand justice,
but those who seek the Lord understand it completely.

Memory Verse: "Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues with injustice." (Proverbs 16:8, ESV)

Devotional: Finding Contentment in Righteousness

Proverbs 28 contrasts the blessings of righteousness with the consequences of wickedness. This chapter emphasizes the importance of contentment and integrity over material gain obtained through unjust means. Let's strive for a heart that values righteousness and finds contentment in God's provision.

Application Questions:

1.    How do you cultivate contentment in a culture that values materialism?

2.    In what areas of your life can you prioritize righteousness over personal gain?

3.    How can you help others recognize the true value of contentment and integrity?

Daily Prayer: Lord, lead me in finding contentment in Your righteousness. Help me prioritize integrity and resist the allure of unjust gain. May my heart be satisfied in You. In Jesus name, amen.
