Day 29 Reading (READ Proverbs 29)

(The text below is only part of the chapter. I encourage you to read the ENTIRE chapter when you walk through this plan. If you do not have a bible, you can find the text using THIS online bible link.)

He who is often reproved, yet stiffens his neck,
will suddenly be broken beyond healing.
When the righteous increase, the people rejoice,
but when the wicked rule, the people groan.
He who loves wisdom makes his father glad,
but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.
By justice a king builds up the land,
but he who exacts gifts[a] tears it down.
A man who flatters his neighbor
spreads a net for his feet.
An evil man is ensnared in his transgression,
but a righteous man sings and rejoices.
A righteous man knows the rights of the poor;
a wicked man does not understand such knowledge.

Memory Verse: "Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law." (Proverbs 29:18, ESV)

Devotional: Guided by Wisdom and Vision

Proverbs 29 highlights the impact of wisdom and the importance of having a prophetic vision. Without vision, people lose direction and restraint, but those who follow God's guidance and law are blessed. This chapter encourages us to seek God's wisdom and direction in all aspects of life.

Application Questions:

1.    How do you actively seek God's wisdom and guidance in your decisions?

2.    In what ways can you develop a vision that aligns with God's purposes?

3.    How can you be a positive influence on those around you through your pursuit of wisdom?

Daily Prayer: Gracious God, guide me in seeking Your wisdom and following Your direction. Help me develop a vision that aligns with Your purposes and brings glory to You. May my life reflect Your blessings. In Jesus name, amen.
